About Ultra Violets
The UltraViolets began in August 1996 by lead vocalist and front person Linda Gaal, who had just left the local band, The Shrinking Violets. Gaal's goal was to create a variety band that could play any type of music and perform it well. The goal was attained and surpassed: The UltraViolets has become known as the premiere band in the two-state area, playing top parties, clubs and sporting events including: Parties at the Ballpark at Busch Stadium; KMOX events ("Get Down Downtown"); American Equity Mortgage's Christmas Parties (2000-2002 and booked for 2003), Parties at the Plaza and Parties in the Park (Westport and Clayton, respectively), Mizzou Alumni Association's Roaring Reunion at Grant's Farm, Zootini 2002 and Fair St. Louis 2001. The UltraViolets capture people's attention. The band is prominently known for high-energy, crowd-interactive performances -- from getting children up on stage dancing to getting crowds rallying at Rams Tailgate Parties, sponsored by the Greater St. Louis Quarterback Club. The 5-piece band plays a wide variety of music, including selections by Aretha Franklin, the Jackson Five, ABBA, Marvin Gaye, Shania Twain, Madonna and new music by Pink, Nelly and Kylie Minogue.
