About Sessions Big Band

Keith Ellis' SESSIONS Big Band is a sixteen piece concert jazz/big band. This remarkable group continues to receive rave reviews as one of the best big bands anywhere. SESSIONS, as they are known locally, can be seen at least once every week performing in St. Louis.

This group's reputation is reaching far beyond St. Louis. Many of its weekly listeners have made an effort to include hearing this band as part of a list of "things to do" while visiting our city. The band's listeners have included those from Germany, India, The Netherlands, and Japan.

Those who have been attracted to the band, because of its reputation, also include many internationally known musicians, including: Nick Brignola (Virtuoso baritone saxophonist), Mike Vax (Stan Kenton lead trumpet/clinician), Bobby Shew (Buddy Rich lead trumpet/Yamaha clinician), Doug Elliott (Airmen of Note jazz trombonist), Bruce Gates (Jazz Consortium Big Band, Airmen of Note lead trumpet), and Maynard Ferguson (Trumpeter/Big Band Leader) who stops in several times each year to join our trumpet section during the regular Monday night performance at "BB's Jazz, Blues and Soups", located at 700 South Broadway (2 blocks south of Busch Stadium).

The Band is available for concerts, jazz/music festivals, parties, wedding receptions and cruises. Male and/or female vocalists are also available to perform with the band.
