About Butchwax and the Hollywoods
Butch Wax & The Hollywoods is an 8-piece band from St. Louis, Missouri. They have performed in numerous Sold Out performances throughout the Midwest for the past several years, and have also been featured in an episode of the TV show "Rescue 911". The band regularly appears at fairs and festivals, corporate events, concerts and private parties. They have also appeared at pep rallies for Cardinal Baseball at Busch Stadium, Blues Hockey games, and Rams Football victory parties and rallies. They wrote the Rams song "Gotta Go To Work" and recorded it along with Smash and Johnnie Johnson and performed it before all of the Rams home games and at the Super Bowl Victory Parade and Celebration. They also wrote the St. Louis Hockey Blues song "Let's Go Blues" and for the St. Louis Cardinals and again recorded them with Smash and Johnnie Johnson. In addition, they have 2 CDs on their own label and both recordings include original songs and guest appearances by the legendary Johnnie Johnson on piano. Johnnie performs regularly with music greats like Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Keith Richards, Bonnie Raitt, The Kentucky Headhunters, Bruce Hornsby, John Sebastian, Chuck Berry, Robert Cray and others. In fact, Eric Clapton calls Johnnie, "The best blues piano player in the world!" When Johnnie is home in St. Louis, he sits in periodically with Butch Wax & The Hollywoods.
