Event Production Manager

Contemporary Productions, L.L.C., a full-service event design and Entertainment Company has an opportunity available for an Event Production Manager with 2+ years of audio / visual experience, event planning and entertainment industry experience.

As the Event Production Manager, you will manage the purchasing of rental equipment and services for events including; audio / visual, staging, tenting, power, labor and others. You will supervise the arrival, set-up and tear-down of equipment and crews. You will be responsible for the planning and logistics of all technical aspects of the event.

You will support the projects sold by business development team and managed by Project Managers. You will work closely with, and communicate with, Senior Management as well communicate with Project Management teams during the sales process.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create technical budgets for projects
  • Sourcing vendors / securing quotes for equipment within area of focus
  • Securing contracts for equipment within area of focus
  • Maintain and stay within budget guidelines
  • Manage day-to-day needs for several on-going projects at once
  • Meeting with clients
  • Site surveys and measurements
  • Build electronic event diagrams in Visio or Vivien programs
  • On-site event management
  • Managing a production crew
  • Working knowledge of union labor laws (stagehands, riggers, truck loaders, etc.)
  • Project Recap & Accounting
  • Client Interaction
  • Collect invoices from vendors
  • Maintain vendor files and equipment lists
  • Create production schedule for events
  • Administrative duties
  • Co-create production schedule with Project Manager

Experience requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of event industry experience
  • The ability to negotiate favorable rates on behalf of company
  • Experience in building and developing relationships with vendors
  • Experience interfacing with Senior Management and clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, presentation and problem solving skills and the ability to gain support and establish working relationships with managers and peers are essential
  • Strong knowledge of entertainers, performers and celebrities
  • Strong technical knowledge of area of focus
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint & Word, Visio, Vivien
  • Ability to deal effectively with all types of personalities is essential
  • Able to be on their feet for long periods of time
  • Travel will be required.

Project Manager

St. Louis based Contemporary Productions, L.L.C., a full-service event and entertainment company, has an opportunity available for a Project Manager with 2+ years of event planning, meeting planning and entertainment industry experience.

As the Project Manager, you will manage all aspects of events from conception to completion. You will work closely with Senior Management, Entertainment Bookers and the Production Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Point of contact for client
  • Core of the internal event team (Interface with accounting on billings, Production Manager on Production, and Entertainment Bookers on entertainment)
  • Draft, update and maintain budgets, contracts, and invoices
  • Create and distribute detailed production schedules
  • Venue research, contracting and negotiation
  • Market research for proposal creation
  • Artist/Celebrity research and booking
  • Working knowledge of union labor laws (stagehands, riggers, truck loaders, etc.)
  • Manage day to day needs for several on-going projects at once
  • Manage Event Vendors (Invitations, Decor, Rentals, Production, Entertainment, Valet, etc.)
  • On-site event production (includes securing insurance and permits)
  • Project Recap & Accounting
  • Administration duties (mail, phones, faxes, filing, copying, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot potential problems before they arise

Director, Business Development

St. Louis based Contemporary Productions, L.L.C., a full-service event and entertainment company, has an opportunity available for a Director of Business Development with 4+ years of sales, event planning, meeting planning and entertainment industry experience.

As the Director of Business Development, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities with national and local corporations, non-profit organizations, retail stores, mall developers, civic organizations, cultural institutions and private individuals.

You will offer a myriad of services to clients including talent / celebrity booking, event design, content creation, audio/visual support and event staffing. You will work closely with, and communicate with, Senior Management as well communicate with Project Management teams during the sales process.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Honing a targeted list of clients that repeatedly use event services
  • Calling targeted clients and setting appointments to present capabilities
  • Developing relationships with targeted clients that result in contracts
  • Effectively present company capabilities to potential clients
  • Maintaining an active client portfolio
  • Report on client portfolio status to Senior Management
  • Developing and maintaining collateral (brochures, photos, fliers, etc.)
  • Bringing existing clients and relationships to the fold
  • Communicating with teams of vendors and Project Managers
  • On-site event management
  • Project recap & accounting

Experience requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of event industry experience
  • The ability to capture and win new business, as evidenced by multiple winning opportunities where you had a major personal role in the successful outcome
  • Experience in building and developing viable prospects
  • Experience interfacing with Senior Management and clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, presentation and problem solving skills and the ability to gain support and establish working relationships with managers and peers are essential
  • Strong knowledge of entertainers, performers and celebrities
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Ability to deal effectively with all types of personalities is essential
  • Travel will be required.
